The greenest office in The Netherlands

The theme for the 2012 World Horticultural Expo in Holland is “Quality of Life”. This statement was translated in the revolutionary design of the renowned architect Jón Kristinsson. The exposition building Villa Flora will be used as an office after the Expo. The building was designed based on the cradle-to-cradle principle and much attention was paid to realising a welcoming and healthy green interior climate. The building is completely self-sufficient, is CO2 neutral and reuses organic waste in a sustainable recycling circle. Among other technologies, underground heat and cold storage is applied. Pellikaan was selected to build this project through a European Tender procedure.
