School children impressed by construction site in Horley

School children were given the opportunity to visit the construction site in Horley where Pellikaan is building the new Horley Leisure Centre. The children had the unique opportunity to learn about construction during a tour of the site with Pellikaan staff. Students had been learning about mega structures beforehand and could now see how this is put in practice.

In addition, six time capsules were prepared by the children. Pellikaan attended many assemblies at the school and were amazed at the thought that went into these capsules. They were filled with letters, drawings, mobile phones, books and toys to give future generations an idea of what life is like now.

Tim Prior, project manager for Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, said: “It is really interesting, for it gives us the chance to show off the guys’ works. The children were amazed.”
