There is also seating for 100 people at the 25 meter competition pool, which also has a diving board and moveable floor. The teaching pool also has a moveable floor. The leisure pool offers hydrotherapy benches, a whirlpool, a water jet, a 60 meter slide and a kid’s pool. The outdoor sunbathing area, two gyms and an area dedicated to food and drink complete the offer. All in all, that means 2,500m² of swimming pool and 5,900m² of dry sports facilities offers sports and leisure facilities for residents as well as students of the adjacent schools and several local sports clubs. Underground parking for 150 cars is also provided.

De Waterkanten is a large new housing development with several residential areas, sports facilities, schools, water leisure and restaurants, bars etc. The entire Waterkanten plan is focussed on sustainability. The entire development has very high GPR score. GPR is a Dutch standard based on energy use, environment (sustainable materials), health (air quality, noise levels etc), quality of use (layout, convenience, fit for purpose) and value for the future. In addition, measures were taken to achieve an energy use 10% lower than required by regulations. For the sports centre, some measures will include use of underground thermal energy storage, high insulation values and triple glazing in the pool area.
